Fermentation & Civilisation
The foundation of Civilisation is basic: fermentation. A 14th century statute in Augsburg, Germany, established qualitative standards for local brews, stating that "the selling of bad beer is a crime against Christian love."
In Daniel Greysolon Sieur du Lhut's namesake town we still subscribe to that particular theological tenet; Paul Bunyan says amen.
